About Us

Wilton Baptist Church

We are an evangelical, Bible-believing Baptist Church whose members seek to live a life consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ and seek to be a responsible Christian in all aspects of their daily lives. As a fellowship, we believe that living the life of a Christian is not just about turning up on Sunday morning, but in working out our faith during the whole week, in our work, home or school life. We come from all sorts of backgrounds and all walks of life.

We meet together to worship God regularly in the services provided by the church and endeavour to live in love and fellowship with all other members of the church. We always aim to exercise a caring responsibility towards other people with whom we have contact, in any capacity and do whatever we can to bring others to Christ.

Our services are quite informal and we use a mix of contemporary and more traditional songs and hymns. We aim to make the services as accessible as possible for all, especially new visitors.

As a Church, we are affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain, whilst the Pastor and leadership team (called the Deacons) oversee the day-to-day running of the church. Deacons are elected from within the church membership.

Membership is open to all who profess repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who believe in his deity and humanity and who fully accept that there is one God in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and who acknowledge the authority of the Holy Scriptures.

We believe that baptism by total immersion is for those who profess repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
